CEO Rikuto Shima of Emeraid, Inc. (Headquarters: Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo), a University of Tokyo startup challenging AI-DX in the medical and healthcare industry using cutting-edge technologies, delivered a lecture at a seminar of the Faculty of Law and Law School at the University of Tokyo on June 11, 2024.
For lecture requests or joint research discussions, please feel free to contact us.
Emeraid upholds the philosophy of "A society where everyone can face 'living' head-on" and is a company that solves problems with AI-centered technology specialized for the healthcare industry.
To achieve "sustainability of healthcare" in modern times where healthcare worker reform, population decline, and labor shortages due to aging are major challenges, Emeraid conducts DX promotion projects (AI-DX Solutions Business, AI-R&D Business) in collaboration with major corporations, medical institutions, universities, and care facilities.
On June 11, 2024, at the University of Tokyo (Hongo Campus), CEO Shima gave a lecture on the founding story, challenges in the healthcare sector, and the future vision, followed by active discussion with students. Students commented that "the business and career choice insights were very helpful."

For students aiming to work with startups as lawyers or in companies, I believe it was greatly stimulating to learn that a fellow student of the same generation within the university is challenging new business ventures and to hear them talk about their future vision.

Healthcare is an industry where various challenges are piled up, centered on medical care and nursing care, which are said to be lagging behind in digitalization. Because it is a field directly related to 'living,' there are barriers to innovating existing methods even as optimal approaches are being explored in the field. At this lecture, students specializing in law — a field that might seem distant from medicine and healthcare — showed great interest, and I felt even more strongly the need to expand the circle of people who personally engage with healthcare issues. Going forward, I want to continue leveraging Emeraid's strength of 'problem-oriented AI-DX' technology to illuminate the medical and healthcare industry and realize a society where everyone can face 'living' head-on.
